His approach ensures thoughtful planning and alignment early in the project lifecycle, setting teams up for success long before ground is broken. David’s deep technical expertise and commitment to collaborative planning help BBI deliver predictable, value-driven outcomes for clients.

Jason leads project operations at BBI, applying over 20 years of construction experience to strengthen project execution systems and elevate team performance. He draws on lessons from across the industry to support efficient delivery from kickoff through closeout, ensuring teams are equipped with the leadership, structure, and support they need. Jason is focused on creating operational clarity and consistent results that reflect BBI’s commitment to quality and client satisfaction.

Lindsay is Partner and the leader of marketing and business development at BBI Construction Management, where she drives strategic growth, brand visibility, and market positioning. With over 20 years of experience helping professional services organizations define their growth strategies, she brings a systems-focused, client-centered approach to firm leadership. Lindsay is passionate about connecting BBI’s expertise to client needs and supporting a culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, and quality delivery.

Jeremy Criscione serves as Senior Project Manager at BBI Construction Management with more than 13 years of experience delivering construction management, general contracting, and design-build projects. A graduate of the University of Florida with a Master of Construction Management, Jeremy has led numerous renovation and infrastructure projects across the University of Florida campus and other institutional facilities requiring disciplined planning and coordination.

Jeremy serves as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, overseeing planning and project control, scheduling and estimating methods, subcontractor procurement, and project accounting. He works closely with the BBI leadership team during preconstruction to support value management, constructability analysis, and project planning. Jeremy also has experience coordinating Owner Direct Purchase Program components and has participated in discussions related to construction technology tools being implemented across UF projects.

Originally from Interlachen, Jeremy moved to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida and has remained in the area throughout his career. Outside of work, he enjoys running and spending time outdoors with his family.

John McCarter serves as Project Manager at BBI Construction Management, bringing experience in sustainable construction and renovation projects across the University of Florida campus. A Gainesville resident since 2010, John earned his AA in Building Construction from Santa Fe College before graduating from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Sustainability and the Built Environment. He is also a USGBC LEED Green Associate.

John manages projects from preconstruction through completion, serving as the primary point of contact for clients while coordinating scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, and project accounting. His background includes sustainable retrofits and infrastructure improvements within active campus environments, where he supports constructability analysis, cost awareness initiatives, and value-driven project delivery.

Outside of work, John enjoys shooting sports and cheering on the Florida Gators alongside his family, all of whom are proud UF alumni.

Parker Ross serves as Assistant Project Manager at BBI Construction Management with five years of experience supporting construction management and general contracting projects across commercial and residential sectors. In his role, Parker assists with planning and project control activities including scheduling coordination, subcontractor management, procurement tracking, and construction documentation.

Parker works closely with project managers and field teams to support submittals, RFIs, cost tracking, and progress reporting while helping ensure projects remain aligned with schedule and budget objectives. His experience includes multiple renovation and infrastructure projects across the University of Florida campus and healthcare facilities requiring careful coordination within active environments.

Outside of BBI, Parker volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, where he helps lead residential construction efforts each weekend. His hands-on approach to building and commitment to community service reflect the same dedication he brings to project delivery.

Gary Brooks serves as Senior Superintendent at BBI Construction Management with more than 30 years of experience in construction management and general contracting across commercial, healthcare, laboratory, and institutional facilities. A Gainesville resident since 1966, Gary has been part of the BBI team since 2007 and has supervised numerous renovation and infrastructure projects across the University of Florida campus.

Gary leads field operations with a focus on planning and project control, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, procurement support, and quality assurance to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. His extensive experience working in active and occupied environments allows him to carefully coordinate construction activities while minimizing disruption to ongoing campus operations.

In addition to his work in the field, Gary frequently participates in BBI’s presentations for future projects, helping communicate the team’s approach and experience. Outside of work, Gary and his spouse Terri enjoy traveling, boating, and spending time together.

Steve Jones serves as Senior Superintendent at BBI Construction Management with more than 35 years of experience in construction management and general contracting across institutional, healthcare, commercial, and residential projects. A State of Florida Certified General Contractor, Steve has led numerous projects across the University of Florida campus, including healthcare renovations, historic preservation efforts, and complex HVAC and air handling system upgrades.

Steve provides disciplined field leadership with a focus on project planning, scheduling implementation, subcontractor coordination, procurement oversight, and constructability execution. His background as both a Quality Control Manager and estimator strengthens his ability to maintain cost awareness, enforce quality standards, and support value management throughout the construction process.

With OSHA 30-hour certification and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management training, Steve brings a strong commitment to safety, quality assurance, and compliance while delivering projects efficiently within active and occupied environments.

Rod Whiteside serves as Senior Superintendent at BBI Construction Management with more than 20 years of experience delivering construction management and general contracting projects across higher education and institutional facilities. He specializes in complex renovation and modernization projects within active campus environments, including rapid-turnaround “Summer Slam” projects completed during academic breaks.

Rod has led a wide range of projects including elevator modernizations, roofing replacements, HVAC system upgrades, structural improvements, and large-scale student housing renovations. One of his most notable projects was the University of Florida Keys Housing renovation, where his team completed 120 bathroom renovations and replaced 60 HVAC systems within a 63-day construction schedule.

Originally from Canada, Rod moved to North Central Florida as a teenager and has spent his entire career in the construction industry. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, kayaking, mountain biking, and cheering on the Florida Gators.

Russ Mills serves as Senior Superintendent at BBI Construction Management with more than 25 years of experience in construction management and general contracting across commercial, institutional, and infrastructure projects. Since joining BBI in 2016, Russ has helped deliver a wide range of renovation and infrastructure projects across the University of Florida campus, healthcare facilities, and municipal clients throughout North Central Florida.

Russ directs daily field operations including trade coordination, site logistics, procurement tracking, and schedule execution to ensure projects remain organized and efficient in active environments. His experience includes campus renovations, student housing improvements, and complex utility and infrastructure work requiring careful sequencing and coordination.

A Florida native originally from DeLand, Russ has lived in Gainesville for more than 20 years. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his son and family and staying active with outdoor activities such as golf, hunting, fishing, camping, and boating.

Larry Messer serves as Superintendent at BBI Construction Management with more than 14 years of experience supporting construction management and general contracting projects across commercial and institutional facilities. A graduate of the University of Florida’s Rinker School of Construction Management, Larry brings strong campus-specific experience working within active and occupied university environments.

Larry leads daily field operations including project planning, scheduling implementation, subcontractor coordination, and procurement tracking to ensure projects remain organized and aligned with schedule and budget objectives. His experience includes multiple renovation and infrastructure projects across the University of Florida campus, where careful coordination and disciplined execution are essential.

Originally from Palatka, Larry moved to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida and has been part of the BBI team since 2014. Outside of work, he enjoys home renovation projects, spending time with family and friends from church, and cheering on the Florida Gators.

Aaron Thirion Perez serves as Field Engineer at BBI Construction Management, supporting field operations and project coordination across renovation and infrastructure projects. A graduate of the University of Florida’s Rinker School of Construction Management, Aaron brings strong technical training in construction safety, quality control, and field coordination.

Prior to joining BBI full-time, Aaron gained experience through internships with several major construction firms, where he assisted with safety inspections, quality control, construction documentation, and punch-out coordination. At BBI, he supports project teams by maintaining daily logs, coordinating punch list activities, assisting with conceptual estimating, and organizing project closeout documentation.

Aaron is OSHA 30 certified and bilingual in Spanish, allowing him to communicate effectively with diverse project teams and trade partners in the field. His hands-on experience and collaborative approach help support safe, organized, and efficient project delivery.

Patrick Staffa is a Project Superintendent at BBI Construction Management with more than 10 years of experience supporting construction management and general contracting projects across North Central Florida. He specializes in field coordination, scheduling, and quality control for commercial and institutional renovation projects.

Patrick plays a key role in managing day-to-day construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining strict safety and quality standards on active job sites. His experience includes working on renovation and modernization projects within occupied facilities, where careful planning and disciplined execution are essential.

Working closely with project managers, trade partners, and clients, Patrick helps ensure projects remain organized, well-sequenced, and aligned with project schedules and budgets. A graduate of Santa Fe College with a degree in Construction Management Technology, Rip brings strong technical expertise and disciplined field leadership to BBI’s commercial, healthcare, and institutional construction projects.

Rip manages day-to-day field operations including subcontractor coordination, scheduling implementation, procurement tracking, and site logistics. He works closely with project managers, trade partners, and clients to ensure construction activities remain organized, efficient, and aligned with project schedules and budgets. Much of his experience includes renovation and modernization projects within active campus and healthcare environments where careful coordination, safety compliance, and clear communication are essential.

With strong attention to detail and proficiency in construction technology tools such as Bluebeam Revu and construction management software platforms, Rip supports accurate documentation, quality assurance, and disciplined project execution. Lisa has been with BBI since 2012 and is responsible for all things financial within the company. Originally from Naples, Lisa has lived in the High Springs/Gainesville area for more than twenty years. Family is the most important thing in Lisa’s life, including her three grown children and four adorable grandchildren. Lisa also loves watching all the college football games each season. Go Gators!

Dena Deming joined BBI Construction Management in 2022 as an Accounting Assistant, where she supports the company’s financial operations and assists with day-to-day accounting functions. With a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, she contributes to ensuring the smooth management of project and corporate finances. Outside the office, Dena enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the river with her husband and their German Shepherds.
