Russ Mills

Russ Mills serves as Senior Superintendent at BBI Construction Management with more than 25 years of experience in construction management and general contracting across commercial, institutional, and infrastructure projects. Since joining BBI in 2016, Russ has helped deliver a wide range of renovation and infrastructure projects across the University of Florida campus, healthcare facilities, and municipal clients throughout North Central Florida.

Russ directs daily field operations including trade coordination, site logistics, procurement tracking, and schedule execution to ensure projects remain organized and efficient in active environments. His experience includes campus renovations, student housing improvements, and complex utility and infrastructure work requiring careful sequencing and coordination.

A Florida native originally from DeLand, Russ has lived in Gainesville for more than 20 years. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his son and family and staying active with outdoor activities such as golf, hunting, fishing, camping, and boating.

Chris Trowell

Chris is a Partner at BBI Construction Management, overseeing corporate operations and business development. He brings more than two decades of construction management experience, with leadership across commercial, government, and institutional projects totaling hundreds of millions of dollars in completed work.

Chris joined BBI in 2016 to help spearhead an ownership transition and has since played a key role in shaping the firm’s operational standards, delivery approach, and client relationships. Known for his decisive leadership and collaborative style, he is focused on strengthening internal operations, supporting high-performing project teams, and building long-term client partnerships that position BBI for continued success.

Larry W. Messer, Jr

Larry Messer serves as Superintendent at BBI Construction Management with more than 14 years of experience supporting construction management and general contracting projects across commercial and institutional facilities. A graduate of the University of Florida’s Rinker School of Construction Management, Larry brings strong campus-specific experience working within active and occupied university environments.

Larry leads daily field operations including project planning, scheduling implementation, subcontractor coordination, and procurement tracking to ensure projects remain organized and aligned with schedule and budget objectives. His experience includes multiple renovation and infrastructure projects across the University of Florida campus, where careful coordination and disciplined execution are essential.

Originally from Palatka, Larry moved to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida and has been part of the BBI team since 2014. Outside of work, he enjoys home renovation projects, spending time with family and friends from church, and cheering on the Florida Gators.

Jeremy Criscione

Jeremy Criscione serves as Senior Project Manager at BBI Construction Management with more than 13 years of experience delivering construction management, general contracting, and design-build projects. A graduate of the University of Florida with a Master of Construction Management, Jeremy has led numerous renovation and infrastructure projects across the University of Florida campus and other institutional facilities requiring disciplined planning and coordination.

Jeremy serves as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, overseeing planning and project control, scheduling and estimating methods, subcontractor procurement, and project accounting. He works closely with the BBI leadership team during preconstruction to support value management, constructability analysis, and project planning. Jeremy also has experience coordinating Owner Direct Purchase Program components and has participated in discussions related to construction technology tools being implemented across UF projects.

Originally from Interlachen, Jeremy moved to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida and has remained in the area throughout his career. Outside of work, he enjoys running and spending time outdoors with his family.

Lisa has been with BBI since 2012 and is responsible for all things financial within the company. Originally from Naples, Lisa has lived in the High Springs/Gainesville area for more than twenty years. Family is the most important thing in Lisa’s life, including her three grown children and four adorable grandchildren. Lisa also loves watching all the college football games each season. Gary Brooks

Gary Brooks serves as Senior Superintendent at BBI Construction Management with more than 30 years of experience in construction management and general contracting across commercial, healthcare, laboratory, and institutional facilities. A Gainesville resident since 1966, Gary has been part of the BBI team since 2007 and has supervised numerous renovation and infrastructure projects across the University of Florida campus.

Gary leads field operations with a focus on planning and project control, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, procurement support, and quality assurance to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. His extensive experience working in active and occupied environments allows him to carefully coordinate construction activities while minimizing disruption to ongoing campus operations.

In addition to his work in the field, Gary frequently participates in BBI’s presentations for future projects, helping communicate the team’s approach and experience. Outside of work, Gary and his spouse Terri enjoy traveling, boating, and spending time together.
