BBI Construction Management was selected as the construction manager for the Microbiology & Cell Science Research Building Re-Roof, Phases 1 and 2. This project, on the UF main campus, re-roofed 66,136 SF and replaced the existing high-plume and standard exhaust fan assemblies.
The project consisted of the installation of a new modified bitumen roof system, exterior building cleaning, storefront doors, interior finishes/lab remodeling, lightning protection, and electrical systems. Additionally, two large and elaborate steel platform structures had to be designed during the project and erected above the existing roof to create a new platform/roof level for the new, high-plume exhaust fans.
