Our History
A legacy of trusted execution.
Founded in 1978, BBI has served North Central Florida for nearly 50 years as a trusted construction management and design-build partner.
Over the decades, the company built its reputation by consistently delivering quality work, honoring commitments, and building lasting relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and community partners.
Trust wasn’t claimed.
It was earned.
Leadership that shaped the culture.
For decades, BBI was led by Joe Burns, whose steady leadership helped define the company’s reputation and operating philosophy.
His leadership established a culture grounded in integrity, accountability, and doing things the right way, principles that remain central to BBI today.
Experience across complex project types.
BBI’s experience spans a wide range of renovation, modernization, infrastructure, and facility improvement projects, including:
- Occupied renovations
- Historic preservation
- HVAC and MEP modernization
- Utility infrastructure
- Re-roofing
- Fire protection upgrades
- Code compliance improvements
- Equipment installation
- Maintenance and facility upgrades
Longstanding institutional relationships reflect that experience.
BBI has held University of Florida Minor Contracts since 1999 and currently serves under Alachua County’s Job Order Contract program.
