BBI delivered the design-build construction of the Teresa Turner Learning Center for the Southern Scholarship Foundation, creating a dedicated space for studying, collaboration, online learning, and student support.

THE CHALLENGE
Creating a modern learning space that supports flexibility, focus, and connection.
The Southern Scholarship Foundation needed a dedicated facility that could support studying, online learning, testing, mentoring, and collaborative student engagement within a flexible and welcoming environment.
The project also required coordination of site development, utility infrastructure, parking, paving, and stormwater systems while aligning the building with the Foundation’s mission of supporting students pursuing higher education opportunities.
THE BBI APPROACH
Design-build coordination focused on functionality and long-term usability.
BBI worked closely with the owner, design team, GRU, and the City of Gainesville to coordinate planning, infrastructure, permitting, and construction from early design through project completion.
The completed facility included collaborative learning areas, private testing and interview rooms, conference space, technology infrastructure, and flexible study environments designed to support a wide range of student needs.
Site improvements included parking, paving, utility coordination, and stormwater retention infrastructure integrated into the overall project delivery.
