BBI completed a 12,352 SF full-floor renovation within the UF Health Medical Plaza, converting the former UF Eye Center into a modern women’s healthcare facility designed to support patient care, clinical operations, and staff collaboration.
The project required complete demolition back to the building’s structural components followed by construction of a fully modernized healthcare environment including new layouts, framing, drywall, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and interior finishes.
Because the remainder of the building remained fully operational throughout construction, BBI carefully coordinated access, elevator usage, material movement, infection-sensitive work areas, and common area protection to minimize disruption to ongoing healthcare operations.
The completed facility included:
- 14 patient exam rooms
- 7 ultrasound rooms
- reception and waiting areas
- nurses stations
- staff breakroom
- training and conference space
Through disciplined coordination, phased execution, and close collaboration with UF Health stakeholders, BBI successfully delivered a modernized clinical environment while maintaining uninterrupted operations throughout the active medical facility.
